Take time to center yourself

Just as our body has a self-cleaning mechanism, our mind has a self-cleaning mechanism, but we need to daily give it time and a type of “approval” to really do its work…. so it needs to be attentive in nature….. we all need to find a practice that works for us, and make it a daily practice. It is our inner psychiatrist…. 🙂

Believe it or not, our natural state as humans is a balanced, centered, harmonious state.

If we don’t have some form of practice like this, we do not get an opportunity to see just how much one day can produce such an off balanced thinking……. we can go very far off center, or off track just in the course of a day (or sometimes an hour or a minute!)

BTW, in my life (64 years and counting 🙂 ) i have not seen evidence of a “sage” state, where a person gets so pure, that they don’t fall back into this clogged up state anymore!!!! I HAVE seen evidence of folks who have a practice which keeps bringing them back, bringing them back, bringing them back…. to a clean, natural, centered frame of mind!!! (like feeding the good wolf)

One of the earliest forms of this, was a centering practice, just sitting straight and relaxed and paying attention to the breath going in and out of the nostrils…. breathing with the lower abdomen. I suspect most animals do this instinctually…… a bit like a “neutral” mode…. just breathing….. letting all built up attitudes roll off…. dropping to “zero”….
When we take time every day to clear our minds, very much like how our body needs rest and time to clear out its garbage, we allow our mind to not get clogged up with opinions and attitudes. When we live our life filled with opinions and attitudes, and don’t just see what IS, mind sickness can clog us and take over …. and often our mind sickness builds up and hurts those around us.

When we take time to sit quietly every day… and “clean our mind/life house”, we allow ourselves to be free from all the things that can poison our minds.

If we don’t have some form of practice like this, we do not get an opportunity to see just how much one day can produce such an off balanced thinking…….

Be kind to yourself…. take time every day to come back to your natural balanced state. Believe it or not, our natural state as humans is a balanced, centered, harmonious state.
