A large dose of realistic thinking would sure help us right now.
If we would realize that human society is the only thing that keeps humans from acting like animals, then we would protect and grow what we have built as the jewel that it is. 🤠🪶
Tribalism is rooted deep in our evolutionary minds, and serves its purpose, but there is only one way to rise above it… social order.
Only well defined social guidelines and adherence to those guidelines can create a place where “humans can live together without killing each other”.
1.) Treat others as you would have them Treat you.
2.) If humans want to live together, and not alone in the forest, they must treat all other humans with respect and act without harm.
3.) We must realize that the guidelines which protect us from others also limit us, and protect others from us. Law isn’t one sided…. what so many folks are complaining about these days are the same laws that are protecting them.
3.) (The Biggie) While we all have the right to think the way we wish, this does NOT give us the right to expect our ideas to extend past the border of our home/family/skin to the outside world. We CAN act out our thinking in our defined inner space, but do not have the right to impose it on others.
4.) The family unit is defined by nature (no cherrypicking!), and is another part of the social structure that needs to be cast in stone.
5.) The past is the past, and who we are today is the product of the past….. we learn… we move forward…. we don’t fixate on it and try to hide it or tear it down.
Interesting guidelines … but would everyone choose those same guidelines? If not, who gets to decide? Complicated … BTW I’d be interested to read more about what you mean with #4
