How to Practice · How We See the World

Mutual Respect between Humans

it seems to be that:

1.) If we realize that all humans are connected to the Creator – The Life Source, then we can realize that we all drink from the same spring of living water.

2.) As we reach for certainty in our beliefs about how everything works, we push our overzealous certainty on others in the form of wanting others to believe the same thing.

3.) We put certain things on a pedestal to support our certainty about what we believe: the bible, the prophets, the apostles, our pastors. This is all understandable as we all want to feel a sense of security in our beliefs.

4.) The Human Mind is limited in its understanding, so we need to realize that our conception of reality is not complete. We need to admit our limited understanding, and allow others to see things differently than we do. To not admit this is human arrogance. Again, this assumes that we are all drinking from the same spring of living water.

5.) Our Human makeup is not as limited in its experiencing of Reality, therefore our experiencing is a better and more direct relationship to follow……
BUT
6.) When we allow vain imagining to take over, instead of drinking from the living spring, our minds can be darkened, and we can commit harmful words thoughts and acts towards other humans.
7.) The golden rule of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” can keep us from wandering down rabbit trails, and doing harm to others, if we abide by this rule.

8.) Therefore we must be humble in our believing, and not be pushy or arrogant in our thinking.

9.) We can learn from others, and pull others back from darkened thinking, and humbly live side by side.
