Re-building Society from the beginning: Limiting Personal Freedoms

In terms of what is now popularly called “personal freedom”, there really are no rules. We can do whatever we wish with our mind and body, whether harmless or harmful. There is nothing in our body or mind that actually prevents us from this. This concept seems to be the flowing current beneath the curbing of rules and policing of those rules that is becoming so “normalized” in our society today.

“I should be able to do anything I want whenever I want” is often heard. This really is a rebel teenager talking.

Adults understand that rules are necessary in order for us to live together without harming one another. This is one of the building blocks of Society.

In terms of living in an environment where there is more than one person involved (Society), rules obviously need to be set, to protect one individual from another individual, so those personal freedoms must be limited by rules.

Its actually quite simple.

If we choose to live in a group, of any kind, we must realize that these rules protect us as well as the others in the group. Mutual benefit.

If we choose to live “wildly”, with no rules, then we must be willing to live where there are no other people, or in a group that is willing to live with the consequences of their actions.
